Let me introduce myself, my name is Russell Stroud. I am honored to be your Goshen city Mayor. Many of you don’t personally know me yet, although many of you already know me or know a little about me. I was born in Fayetteville at the old Washington Regional Medical Center off of North Street in 1973. I grew up in Goshen and remember when it became an incorporated city. I am actually the third generation of our family living in Goshen, so my roots to Goshen run deep. It’s one of the main reasons we moved back to Goshen, after having spent 9 years in Los Angeles California, then 2 years in New York New York. We returned home to Goshen and started our own family now raising our twin daughters here. Our twins are now 5 years old and just started kindergarten. I am an Emergency Medicine Nurse Practitioner and work at Northwest Medical System. I work between the emergency departments at Northwest Fayetteville, Springdale and Bentonville. I typically work 7 to 8 shifts a month which will leave enough time for me to fully engage in the city’s representation as Mayor should I be elected. I have been in leadership positions throughout my career in Nursing as well as in my current role as a Nurse Practitioner. I have not held any public office previously but have had experience working with the city of Goshen from 2018 to 2019 assisting the city as the Street Superintendent.
There has been so much change in Goshen from the time I grew up in Goshen. There are definitely more families and many more homes. There is continuing to be significant growth with more homes being built every year. Since my recent involvement with the city and the city council four years ago, many things have developed. There is a new park which was purchased with options to purchase even more land to increase the overall size of the park. Goshen has received significant grant money due to the hard work of our citizen volunteers and the hard work of our city council. There was also the purchase of additional land behind the community center, where there is now a farmers market every Thursday evening from spring through late fall. The police department has grown and we have some excellent officers protecting our city. Undoubtedly there will be many more changes in our city’s future that will impact all of us. I am looking forward to being a support for our community as mayor and want to help the city council represent each and every citizen in our city. Please feel free to email me or message me with any questions you may have or with any suggestions on how to make Goshen an even better city for our future. Thank you for your continued support.

My past leadership experiences as an Emergency Department Administrator, both at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles California and NYU Langone Medical Center in Manhattan New York, have helped me develop & implement the building blocks to successful leadership. I look forward to having the opportunity to put my experience into practice for the city of Goshen.
